Family Outing

Singtel is installing the broadband and mio TV and Daddy took a day leave to oversee that, and leaving the whole afternoon for family outing.

We intended to have buffet lunch at Ellenborough market cafe. However, it was too late, as the lunch buffet was between 1130pm to 230pm, and we had just left home around 130pm… We headed to Liang Court eventually. After the car has been parked, daddy had a minor “accident”. No… nothing happened to the car, but his forehead! He knocked against a horizontal pillar while pushing me on a pram. Haha! Look at his forehead, sooooo careless…

 

Went Liang Court to redeem this breakfast set. Elegant and stylish right??!

Mummy decided to have their lunch at Streets Cafe. We ordered the following :

Portuguese stone rice @$8.80

云南香辣猪排面汤 @6.80

Green tea pudding @3.80

Iced lime tea @3.50. The noodles was too hot for mummy :-)

     So bored…..

Dozed off while we were strolling along Clarke Quay

Taking a break after a long walk. We have dessert from Mazazu Crepe @ Liang Court. Yummy!

 

     Our next stop –> daddy making new glasses at Mahattan house. Having my “dessert” in the car :-)

For being a great girl, mummy bought new clothes for me! Aren’t they nice!! Mummy said that I should be able to wear them in another month’s time. Hurray! (That was the first time they bought me new clothes. :-) )

What a Great Laugh! (whatever reason?!)

Can imagine how happy I was on yesterday evening (23/06/2010)! Daddy was making some hand gestures (it's not really funny), and I was laughing all the way!

On another video, granny was feeding me with an apple. I simply used my 2 front "dracula" teeth to extract the fruit juice!!

Progress Report – 5 months

I have progressed well to the following highlighted items in BLUE.

Now is usually the time when many parents attempt weaning. Do not be discouraged if baby reacts negatively to solids. It is quite a strange experience for baby’s taste buds after all. If baby doesn’t like it, leave weaning attempts aside for a while and try again a week or two later.

What your child might do:

Physically and mentally
• Experiments with concept of cause and effect
• More observant of small objects
• Able to see clearly across the room
• Uses hands more confidently (usually in a raking fashion) to bring objects closer
• Transfers objects from hand to hand
• Pushes away if he/ she dislikes what you are doing (wiping off drool, etc)
• Plays with toes
• Sits with support
• Rolls over from stomach to back
• May begin teething
• May be ready to wean

Language and emotions
Tries to imitate sounds

Feeding
Solids should be introduced very cautiously. Signs that baby is ready to begin weaning include:
• Being able to hold the head up well
• Being interested in solid food
• Having a good tongue reflex to push solid food in or out (to aid swallowing and prevent choking)
• Being able to open mouth to receive a spoon

Ideal toys for this age
• Squeeze toys with squeaky sounds
• Handheld musical toys such as toy telephones

Useful tips
Notice how much your child loves to watch you? Now is actually a great time to try baby sign language. Teaching baby simple signs with facial expressions and hand movements can help enhance communication skills even at this pre-verbal stage. Don’t worry if baby doesn’t pick it up right away. Consult a baby sign language book for more information (available at most bookstores).

Progress Report

0715 - consumed milk by mummy.
0830 - daddy took over.
0905 - getting uneasy, prepare to sleep on yaolan.
0920 - slept on yaolan.
0950 - woke up.
1020 - bathed and consumed 4oz milk. Prepare to sleep on yaolan.
1100 - place on baby cot to sleep myself (or cry) while daddy brushed teeth.
1120 - slept on yaolan.
1330 - still having a good dream. Mummy was back!

Dangerous Move….

During the Sunday weekend, when daddy was alone with me..
Daddy got a shock when he saw that! Daddy was careless for not securely me properly. As a result, I could easily slide from the rocking chair. Initially, daddy found it funny and took pictures and videos of my stunts. Shortly later, he felt that it could be an accident otherwise. He tried to simulate this again, and realised that I may simply lean forward and head down to the flooring!! Daddy was relieved that this did not happen after all…
